New Year: New Heart
Repentance is essential to inherit heaven. One who does not repent shall perish, said Jesus. One who is in Christ is a new creation.

25 Things About God

Peace In The Midst Of Chaos
We live in a world that is full of chaos. It seems like we just get one problem solved and another one worse than the last one hits us. Our lives are filled with crowded schedules and so many demands on our time that we find it difficult to read the Bible or take time to talk to Jesus.

Suffering
Suffering from the Vipassana Meditation perspective.

Why Does God Allow Suffering?
All the wickedness and sufferings are created as challenges to man to overcome them. All of us perceive, understand and try to solve all these sufferings and wickedness and thus by step-by-step move forward in our march to perfection.

Comforting Thoughts When You Face Obstacles
Our strength and comfort comes from our Lord. He is our strength and refuge. He is a God of sympathy and understanding. He knows our hurt and loneliness. He knows how we feel.

Jerusalem Heads of Churches' Christmas Message 2007
It is important for us to reflect carefully on what the Evangelist is trying to put before us about God's gift to us of Jesus, born in Bethlehem's manger, together with the clear response God asks of each one of us.

Christmas Message-2007: The Message of Love and Peace
It’s nothing but the pure love of God towards the mankind that has made God to send his only begotten son. There is no doubt about that. His decision made into truth around two thousand years ago. This would be the most basic belief which we all learned from the day from which we started hearing about Christianity.

A Blessed Christmas - 2007
The sublime nature of celebrating the Divine Nativity of Christ, our Savior, is related to one's response to the Blessed Child born in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. The response of the innkeeper is relevant in contemporary times; when Joseph and Virgin Mary wanted to find a room where the Heavenly Child could be born. He was not unfriendly, but his inn was packed, his hands were full, his mind was preoccupied.

Nativity of Jesus Christ
The incarnation is not accidental, it was planned and executed for a purpose; the salvation of humanity. The only-begotten Son of God, begotten in eternity of the Father without a mother, was born in the fullness of time of a human Mother without an earthly father.

Finding God
Did you ever try anything for a long time with great effort and with no success? You get psychologically glutted, fed up with trying. And then you quit That is when you really discover how to find God.

Pi-Day Reflections on Einstein and Vedanta
Both the circle and the law of relativity are closely linked to ancient rishis and their wisdom for liberation. The rishis were dedicated people experimenting in various ways to understand the law and attain liberation.

Do You Fast?
According to St. John Chrysostom, fasting is not just forsaking food. It is what you do that counts.

The Meaningful Thanksgiving
Giving thanks is the natural response to some favor received. It is ingratitude to be thankless. Not to give thanks is the sign of pride and ego. If we are thankful to our fellow beings, how much more we should be to our Creator who has blessed us richly in different ways.

Devotional Thought: Tender Mercies of the Lord

Lords Prayer
A Basic principle taught by "Give us this day our daily bread," is the principle of moderation. Follow me carefully through this petition as it is a very important point.

Religion and Spirituality - what differentiates Religion from Spirituality?
Religion is "absolute truth of life" of the physical manifested world. It is Religion and not Spirituality which forms the basis of the present society we live in.

Religion For Non Believers
Religion for me has been a bewildering and reluctant adversary. For the longest time religion meant belief in some strangers prescription for salvation.

"Who created religion, God or man?" This was the question of the night as many people out partying on a Friday night gathered around for a spiritual discussion.

Jain Religion as a World Religion
The picture of Jain religion points automatically reveals its universal acceptability.

Faith That Moves Mountains: First, Forget The Mountain
The first thing it means to me is that I have a very small, limited picture of what faith is able to do. It means that I need to open my eyes to just how big and powerful God is, and that I need to constantly remind myself, "With God, all things are possible."

Faith: Finding Reason in a Chaotic Universe
Faith is simply letting go and trusting that everything has purpose and happens for a reason.

Three Keys to Finding Peace in Turbulent Times
When life sweeps through with the force of a F4 tornado, finding peace often seems impossible. Take heart. It’s not only possible; it’s actually only three steps away.

Attaining Inner Peace
To be at one with God is to be at peace. The child simplicity is the greatest agency in bringing this full and complete realization, the child simplicity that recognizes its true relations with the Father's life.

Why Do We Pray?
Prayer might just be God’s greatest gift to us apart from the fact that we are alive. Having a personal and direct communication straight to our maker is a powerful thing to think about.

Teaching Children To Pray
Discussing spiritual matters with young ones can be a trying task. If you have ever attempted it, you know that their insatiable curiosity will lead them to ask many questions which might end up stumping you.

It may be hard to see how you're going to get through something and forgive someone for the wrongs he or she has done to you. But this story may help you look back to your life, and see a different perspective on life.

Manufacturer's Recall Notice
An interesting illustration of Sin.

The Six Ghosts of Fear
There are six basic fears with which every human suffers at one time or another. Most people are fortunate if they do not suffer from the entire six.

Do You Operate in Fear or Faith?
The greatest tool the enemy uses against us in life is fear, because fear keeps us from doing many of those things we would like to do in order to make our lives, and the lives of others, more complete and prosperous.

Fear and Faith Cannot Occupy The Same Space
Prayer, in faith, is our greatest protection against all manner of evil that may present itself in any form. Prayer works for those who believe in their salvation in Christ Jesus, walk in the power of God, and call out His name in time of trouble.

When I think about “Creative Intelligence” I think of God, the Holy Spirit. God is the definitive, The Great Creator, and the Greatest of all Intelligence. This scripture comes to mind…

Jesus Autobiography
I begin with the presupposition that Jesus understood perfectly and clearly who he was. The context in which we read the words of Christ must change, from a late Twentieth Century, techno-centric, hedonistic, materialistic, democratic state to a matrix of First Century Judaism.

A Love Story
One day, I woke early in the morning to watch the sunrise. As I watched, I praised God for His beautiful work. As I sat there, I felt the Lord's presence with me.

Two Ways of Relating to God
A historical study of religion shows that there are two principal patterns of religious experience. The first is a merging in God as the Source of our Being; the second is an encounter with God as the Totally Other.

Sense and Sensation: The Discovery of the Gospel of Judas
The Gospel of Judas is the latest sensation in some media circles. Judas Iscariot got only thirty pieces of silver for betraying his master, but media people certainly hope to make far more than thirty million for the sensational "revelation" of the Gospel of Judas.

Seven Steps to Helping Others that Jesus Taught

Truths Which Aid Forgiveness
Some truths which will help us forgive others are given. (Some of them are based on various spiritual beliefs or Christian concepts which might not be acceptable to you or the subject.)

The Heart to Forgive
It is one thing to “say” that we forgive someone, it is quite another to actually do it. Forgiveness is not a state of mind; it is a state of the heart. Being able to forgive someone from a heart level is not something that comes to us naturally. The challenge that we face is in getting our hearts to a point where we can accomplish this.

Truths For Self-Forgiveness
These truths are there to help us get free from the guilt, shame and doubt of the past, not to give license to do whatever we like in the future.

Tips For A More Effective Prayer Life
How can we make prayer a more active part of our lives? How do we fit such an important practice into our busy schedules? Here are a few simple tips that may help.

God and Your Schedule
I don’t want you to think that you don’t need to be organized or have a schedule. The point is that we need God’s direction. Schedules, agendas and “To Do” lists are just tools to help us be good stewards with our time. Let God decide what tasks are most important.

Why Should I Pray?
We should pray to God for at least two important reasons. First of all, God has instructed us to pray. Second for a purely selfish reason, prayer causes things to happen. Another way of looking at this is "prayer gets results, or cause and effect."

The Power of Affirmative Prayer
When I affirm that I am healthy and whole, I am affirming that I was created by God to be whole and healthy. As I continue using this affirmative prayer, my body responds with the healing it needs.

Praying With Your Teen
Does your teen see you pray? If they don't, how do they know about your relationship with the Lord so they can model it in their own life?

God is Talking -- Are You Listening? Part 1
I invite you to explore with me some of the common mental roadblocks that I've found can prevent us from getting the most from others. God talks to us in many ways, including using the voice of others, but are we listening? Let's look at some of the mental blocks that may be preventing clear reception.
God is Talking -- Are You Listening? Part 2
Another common mental blocks that can prevent us from receiving God's wisdom that is often available through others is commonly called the Full Cup Syndrome. It's a condition males are particularly prone to but which women are not immune.
God is Talking -- Are You Listening? Part 3
We all have unexamined notions, assumptions and beliefs, some which often masquerade as truth. Those are the ones that can act as a large boulder in our path to getting the most out of life. We bring our bias with us to any new relationship although we often don't notice we're doing this, mainly because we do it so often that our bias is simply part of the "background noise" of our lives.
God is Talking -- Are You Listening? Part 4
When we acknowledge and become responsible for the interference that comes from our mind, our full cups and from being biased, what naturally begins to occur is a new opening for being fully present, aware and available for contribution.
Please Listen
Irrational feelings make sense when we understand what's behind them. Perhaps that's why prayer works - because God seldom speaks in an audible voice, and He doesn't force His way. God listens and lets you work it out with His caring assistance.
Communion with God Adapted from an 1896 Scottish Bible by Allan Thornton
Perceiving the Universal in All
Here is an excellent method of moving into prayer of meditation. It can also be used as a meditation in itself.
Wisdom
Wisdom creates a bright presence in our minds, allowing us to perceive with clarity beyond the veils of illusion. When wisdom is accompanied by Faith they create together trust in our highest truths. We are then able to pass safely through the dark and difficult corners of life feeling inner security and inner peace.
Big God . . . Big Dreams
Have you ever thought about just how big God’s dream for your life really is? Too many times, I think we, as Christians, don’t have a vision. I know that a lot has been said about Proverbs 29:18, which says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” And even some has been said on Habakkuk 2:2, where God speaks to Habakkuk and says, “Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” But I think we need to clarify where the vision comes from.
Many Gods. Conflicting Theories. Who is Right?
How can anyone tell you who God is? How can a church, a religion, or any teacher tell you who or what God is? They can not!. Have they seen him? Have they talked to her? Of course not! Not in the physical sense that so many seem to think that God is in. Our language is not rich enough to put into words the incredible unlimited nature of God.
Live Each Day for God
We are living in an era of threat, surprises, frustrations, disasters, and terrorism. The meaning of life is diminishing; it doesn't look secure any more. There doesn't seem to be any safe place in the world. But life has to proceed until it comes to an end no matter what the circumstances are.
