The Positive Procrastinator
by Michael Levy
Maybe I should...but it might come to
naught,
I thought I would...but it was just a thought,
I was going to bring it…but it was already brought,
I nearly caught it...but it was already caught.
I might go for a walk...but it looks like
rain,
I think I’ll enter a contest...but it might be in vain,
Maybe I should exercise...but I don’t think I’ll gain,
All my hopes seem to drop...right down the drain.
I might strive for something new...but I
don’t think I’d please,
Oh! Why is life such a tease?
There’s not much left in my tube...maybe one more squeeze,
What a shame I can’t see...the wood for the trees.
I know I can do it if I want...but not
just yet,
I know I’ll find my opportunities... we just have not met,
I was going to do it...but I’m scared of what he said,
I know what…I’ll go back to bed.
I wonder who I am...just a mixed up man,
I’d like to achieve...but I’ve a positive ban,
In my mind I’ve built up this big dam,
If only I could find the opener...I’d be let out of my can.
