1 ripe avocado
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 small tomato, peeled, seeded, and chopped
1/4 fresh hot red or green chili pepper, peeled, seeded, and chopped
Juice of 1 small lime
Salt and pepper
Cut avocado in half. Twist to release from seed. Scoop pulp with spoon into shallow soup bowl. Mash avocado with fork.
Mash in lime juice. Add onion, tomato, and hot pepper. Mix well.
Season with salt and pepper.
Put in serving bowl or in the half of the scooped-out avocado shell.
