"I'm not lost, I've just temporarily lost sight of my destination."
-Unknown
Driving down a highway or even a country road, there are many
road signs along the way. We may see yield, stop, speed limits,
merge and more.
In life, we also have many "signs." We receive direction from
many sources along the way.
How often have you been driving and you completely miss seeing a
road sign? You may be driving the wrong speed and suddenly you
realize your going too fast. You may even get stopped by a
Policeman and get a ticket, but I bet you may pay attention a bit
more next time, right?
The same is with the signs we receive in life from our guides,
guardian angels and Spirit/God.
Many times we are given signs and we are just too busy, speeding
along on the highway of life to pay attention. We miss them...and
miss them, until finally, we get caught, maybe going too fast or
just ignoring the truly important things in our lives and
something says, like a big red stop sign, "STOP!" and it finally
may get our attention.
We may even pay attention to the traffic lights, now and then.
When we have finally stopped, we need to look up and trust in
ourselves and our higher source, that while we sit at the red
light, to know when to go forward and be cautious for that
yellow/yield light. This could be a time when we are learning and
need to pay more attention to ALL things around us and within us.
We may even need to merge onto the highway of our beliefs with
some others beliefs and try new things, but we are always in our
own vehicle and we have choice.
We may need to stop now and then and even ask directions, perhaps
by listening more, sharing, reading, getting out and seeing new
sights, being open minded, and meeting new people. Not all signs
are just going to conveniently come to us, we sometimes have to
go on a detour now and then and try something new.
Even with all the many signs in our lives, we will miss some, now
and then and not everything is a sign, but if it makes you stop
and think, then it's a good thing.
We must learn to trust the maps that we decided to travel, long
ago and go with the flow of traffic.
Do you feel lost today? Do you feel you have lost your way? Do
you need some help with directions?
If we slow down or even stop to ask directions, there are many
there willing to help. Even when we may have to yield now and
then and gather our maps and resources, I am sure if we pay
attention to the road, we will surely find our way home.
