General Prayer from Yajur Veda

O Supreme Lord, may eminent scholars , possessing spiritual knowledge, be born in the state.

May valorous warriors, fit to rule, and expert archers , be born in the state.

May there be milky cows, stout oxen and swift horses.

May there be valiant women, heroic youths and victorious charioteers, with the will to fight, and fit to shine in
assemblies.

May clouds shower rain, as profusely as we wish.

May our herbs and plants ripen and bear fruits in time.

May our joys be secure, under thy auspices.
